The 🔑’s to avoiding BURNOUT (what most people won’t do…)
What’s up ITL fam, It’s almost the end of the week and I can’t even lie…I’m definitely looking forward to catching up on my sleep a bit this weekend.
Something that a lot of people don’t talk about is how much mental energy goes into the grind every single day. A lot of people acknowledge the physical aspect of getting up early and going hard at your craft for weeks on end… …but very rarely do I hear people talk about how to stay locked in mentally.
I talk a lot about this with the players that I train in the gym. They’re locked in for long seasons and most of the time they’re managing full academic course loads and training regiments on top of that. Long story short…it gets really easy to burn out. Maintaining that headspace is the key to longevity and consistency…which is why it needs to become a focal point for you if you hope to make big moves this year.
That’s why the top hoopers and biggest executives all have processes and routines in place that help them keep their headspaces clear and their energy high…
🔑 Journaling
🔑 Weekly strategy sessions - plotting your next moves and analyzing mistakes
🔑 Meditation
🔑 Working out
🔑 Non-negotiable sleep routines
🔑 Clean diets
🔑 and more…
Everyone’s process is completely different, so it’s up to you to find out what mix works well for you. One final warning about this though… Don’t get so hung up on having the “perfect” routine - at the end of the day it’s about how well you execute and your ability to do the things that need to be done. Don’t be a perfectionist in this sense, but invest some time into this and you’ll notice your performance improve almost immediately.
