Treat your goals like a newborn baby…(let me explain)
I’ll tell you what I’ve learned since my son was born a few weeks ago…
Sometimes, you have to learn to accept things for what they are rather than wishing they were different. In certain situations, wishing things were different makes sense. But the other 90% of the time, you have to accept life for its ups and downs and do what you can to make it work for you. Some call it "turning trash into treasure"...however it makes sense to you. Here’s an example… Since bringing Sky home a few weeks ago, my guy is crying a LOT more than I expected. It doesn’t matter what time of the day or night it is, it’s just inevitable. But how crazy would I be to get frustrated or upset with an infant crying? Whether you realize it or not, people do this in life all the time. They want to become a top performer in their sport, but they hate working out every day… They want to be a straight-A student, but hate having to study so much and miss out on partying… They want to get a raise at their job, but hate having to put the extra work in to impress the higher-ups… Long story short, they wish getting extraordinary results were easier. Kinda like an infant that cries all the time and needs constant care, the best things in life won’t come easy. And that feeling of wishing it was easier is what makes "average" people quit altogether. So I’ll leave you with this… What would you do if you had an infant that was crying all the time? I’d hope the answer is that you’d just accept the crying for what it is and be grateful that you have the opportunity to raise a child. You know what I’m trying to say...treat your goals, ambitions, and craft the same way. We’ve got some big things coming up for ITL, so I’ll talk to you again very soon… #FindYourBreakthrough -Dev |
